Build-A-Shed: Shed Payment

Description

Build-A-Shed 2024 brought together high school students, contractors and subcontractors to compete in a one-day-build of custom sheds. Teams from Baptist Hill High School, Lucy Beckham High School, James Island Charter High School, Berkeley High School, Cross High School and East Cooper Center for Advanced Studies took part in this year’s event.

Student teams planned and built structures under the guidance of professional contractors. They were judged on the criteria of structural completeness, safety and technical elements.

Proceeds will be put back into the Build-A-Shed program, which provides hands on opportunities for students to gain real life skills and experience, feeding our region’s talent pipeline.

Shed Specifications: 11′ 6″ L x 8′ 0″ W;  Roughly 9’9″ H, at the roof’s peak; 1 – 5′ 0″ W x 6′ 8″ H door opening, with a pair of 6-panel exterior metal doors; Keyed door hardware; 2 – 24″ x 36″ vinyl windows; Exteriors made of T1-11 siding and unpainted, which allows the owner to paint the shed the color they desire.
